Deity: Aglaophonos – One of the many companions of Persephone, a Siren deity. She was known for her beautiful voice. Aglaphonos and her sisters were femmes fatales, and led multitudes of sailors to their demise.

Hesiod enjoys the sound of his own voice. He likes to talk with others, regardless of whether the conversation is stimulating or not. Often, he comes off a bit strong and has no boundaries regarding personal space. Once he has interest in a person, his attitude tends to be flirtatious with very little break. Despite the promiscuous air Hesiod exudes, he is loyal when he finds someone he deems respectable. When interacting with others, new and old, he means well and has morals. But, this is not obvious to many people and he ends up being very off-putting. Underneath the big talk, he doesn’t like two-timing of any sort.
He loves music and, true to his own voice, loves to sing. With or without company, Hesiod hums continuously and composes melodies that hold no direction – which can be either endearing or irritating, depending on who he’s with.
If he thinks he can get away with it, Hesiod will lie to get out of a hot situation. He pushes it sometimes. His family knows how ridiculous he gets.

Power/Weapon:

Voice/Song – when in battle, his voice entrances opponents and leaves them in a dazed state, open for attack. Speaking holds a slight effect, giving the foe a headache or making them feel nauseous. Actual singing brings a full-on effect of stunted motion and disorientation. If he sings a more difficult piece, Hesiod must lower his guard and defense for the duration of the song to focus completely. The more difficult pieces in his repertoire hypnotize his enemies and allow him to direct them under his chain of command for a limited amount of time. Each time the hypnotizing effect wears off, it is slightly more difficult for Hesiod to regain control over them as they build immunity to the song.

Megaphone – Always carried in his backpack. He uses it to have an area of effect in battle, attacking multiple opponents.

Biography:

Growing up with his parents, they enforced music lessons throughout Hesiod’s life. His older brother was incredibly adept at the violin, and had consequently sparked his parents’ hopes for their second son. As a child, Hesiod held a small balance of jealousy and admiration for his brother. He jumped from instrument to instrument, and finally settled on voice. Having done voice training since he was 11 years old, from the early teenage years, Hesiod wanted to try moving into the entertainment industry. The notion was quickly shot down by his parents and he opted for buying recording equipment at home, making his own remixes and interpretation of songs.

On his 17th birthday, people around him seemed to be deterred by his presence and in pain, while others who normally disliked him would hang around him constantly. Not knowing what caused this, Hesiod became increasingly quiet and soft spoken. For two months, he kept to himself, unsure whether the phenomenon was over or not.

During the two months, whenever he sang on his own, Hesiod saw flashes of boat ruins, skulls littered on every available surface, and blurry figures sitting near water. With time, the visions became clearer and more acute, until he was able to listen to words which told him that he was one of the Blessed Children.
After telling his family about the goal to recover Cronus’ pieces, they reluctantly accepted the fact. Generally, his parents were relieved to finally know what was going on with their son. They are worried for his safety, and fret over him each time he visits home.

His brother was suspicious for the good majority of Hesiod's 17th year, wondering if it was another one of Hesiod's many elaborate lies. Only for the past month, after Hesiod's 18th birthday, has he warmed up to the fact - with countless demonstrations of voice control and proof to convince him. He now helps Hesiod compose new pieces and thinks it's rather cool to have a "god iteration" as a younger brother.
His brother and him bicker back and forth as any siblings do, but get along very well musically speaking. Very rarely do they fight about a certain chord progression or rhythm, and they sync up with little to no difficulty in duets and covers. At the end of the day, they're fine with each other's company. They have no qualms with having a "brother" talk, and as Hesiod grew up, he came to his brother with his problems - academic, personal, inquisitive, etc - rather than going to their parents. Secretly (or 'not so secretly', in his brother's eyes), Hesiod still holds a sore spot for his brother being able to play violin better than he ever will.

Hesiod, if ordered to, will follow authority and partake in the hunt for the pieces when needed, or go into battle. He’s content with his role because it allows him to sing however much he likes, and gives him an excuse to deviate from the career paths his parents were pushing him towards.
He still visits his home and family regularly, whenever there is the rare downtime in the war.

Miscellaneous:

Hesiod’s singing voice is in the tenor (high male) range and stretches into the alto (low female) range. He occasionally gets teased for his (effeminate) singing range, unable to hit bass notes that well.
His natural hair colour is black. His first time dying it was at age 13 without his parents’ permission. After acquiring his powers, the colour seemed to have stayed and grow naturally (much to his mom’s displeasure).
He loves swimming – in the ocean preferably.
Thanks to his parents, Hesiod and his brother are surprisingly adept (for boys their age) in the kitchen after multiple forced cooking lessons. At the very least, their palette extends beyond sandwiches, instant noodles, and smoothies. They can feed themselves with a variety of dishes now, enough to survive if their parents leave for vacation.
When uploading his covers and remixes to the internet, he goes under the username swagmaster3000. Hesiod is such a dork, I’m so sorry, you will all hate him.
